Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps taken by Man with Van The Hyde to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation within our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to uphold human rights and to act with integrity in all aspects of our business.
Our Business and Commitment
Man with Van The Hyde provides transport and moving services to a wide range of customers. While our business is not in a sector traditionally associated with high modern slavery risk, we acknowledge that any supply chain can be vulnerable. We are committed to identifying, preventing, and addressing any form of modern slavery that could be connected to our activities.
We maintain a culture that promotes lawful, ethical, and fair conduct. Our management is responsible for ensuring that this culture is understood, communicated, and upheld by all workers engaged by Man with Van The Hyde.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Man with Van The Hyde operates a clear zero-tolerance policy to modern slavery and human trafficking. Any form of forced, bonded, or compulsory labour, any use of child labour in violation of applicable laws, and any exploitation of vulnerable individuals is strictly prohibited.
We expect the same high standards from all our suppliers, subcontractors, and business partners. We will not knowingly work with any organisation that is involved in, or fails to take adequate steps to prevent, modern slavery or human trafficking. Where credible concerns arise, we reserve the right to terminate relationships with suppliers or partners who do not meet our standards.
Supply Chain Standards and Supplier Audits
Our supply chain includes vehicle providers, fuel and equipment suppliers, maintenance services, and other supporting services. We are working to ensure that modern slavery risks are identified and mitigated throughout these relationships.
As part of this approach, we expect suppliers to adhere to all relevant labour and human rights legislation. We communicate our zero-tolerance stance to new suppliers during onboarding and reinforce these expectations through ongoing engagement.
Where appropriate and proportionate to the level of risk, we conduct supplier checks and audits. These may include requesting information on labour practices, verifying the right to work of staff engaged by suppliers, and reviewing any relevant policies and certifications. If any issues are identified, we will seek corrective action plans and monitor progress, or end the business relationship where remediation is not possible or not delivered.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Everyone working for or with Man with Van The Hyde is encouraged to report concerns about modern slavery, human trafficking, or any other unethical conduct. Concerns may relate to our own operations or to the activities of our suppliers and contractors.
Reports can be made to a line manager or to senior management. We will treat all reports seriously, handle them sensitively, and investigate where appropriate. We do not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith, and we are committed to protecting the confidentiality of those who report possible wrongdoing.
Where necessary, we will cooperate fully with relevant authorities and take prompt remedial action to address any substantiated issues.
Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
We aim to raise awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, especially those involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management. Training and guidance will be provided as needed so that individuals can recognise potential warning signs and understand how to respond.
We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach, learning from best practice, industry developments, and any issues identified through our due diligence or audits.
Annual Review and Statement Approval
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least once every year to ensure it remains effective, relevant, and proportionate to the nature and scale of our business. The review considers any changes in our operations, supply chains, applicable legislation, and identified risks.
Following each annual review, we will update this statement where necessary to reflect improvements in our policies, procedures, and controls. The statement is approved by the leadership of Man with Van The Hyde, who take overall responsibility for its implementation and for championing our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking.
